Tink-Wig

Bridge Status

We received written approval from DEP to move forward with an in-kind bridge. The drawings are complete and under review by our engineers. Once complete, we plan to provide a community update and solicitation of bids. Targeting to share at the March board meeting.

The Tink Wig bridge is a critical piece of infrastructure in the community, and we know that the status of repair is top of mind for many residents.  Please know that there are multiple board members and volunteers dedicated to this important project to ensure we have a safe bridge that will last for many years.

A bridge assessment was performed in 2021  A document of the results can be found on the Special Documents page and was closed due to safety concerns. The wood deck needs to be replaced, the bracing system needs to be repaired, and the railing does not meet current standards. The association applied for a grant to make the needed repairs and was denied; however, property owners voted to approve an application for a line of credit to
fund the repairs.

The Bridge Committee was reinstated to evaluate the status of the project and to pull together the information required for the bidding process. Documentation prepared by our engineering consultant was submitted to the PA Dept of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) to determine if a permit from PaDEP is needed to perform the repairs. PaDEP has indicated no permit is needed. Once bids are received from contractors and financing is obtained, the project can be awarded and construction can be scheduled. We appreciate your patience while we work through this important initiative. Please continue to check the Tink Wig website for updates.
